Getting to and From School

Bus Riders

GCPS provides bus transportation for students who live within Walnut Grove's attendance zone.  School transportation is a privilege extended by the Board of Education; it is not a right.  All students are required to obey bus conduct rules posted on each bus.  These rules are to protect the safety and well-being of all students.  Failure to observe these rules can result in suspension of bus privileges.

A transportation form can be found here.

Car Riders

In addition to bus transportation, parents may choose to transport their child to school daily.

Our car rider lane is located on the north side of the school.

Student drop off begins at 8:20 am each morning and pick up begins at 3:20pm in the same location.

Childcare

Several childcare providers have transportation to and from Walnut Grove each day.  Please view the list of Childcare Providers in the resource section and contact them to determine if transportation is provided.

Transportation Changes

Home-to-school and school-to-home transportation information for your child is collected through the registration process.

Parents need to send a handwritten note to the classroom teacher regarding any changes in transportation for that day. All changes in transportation must be in writing. Transportation changes cannot be accepted over the phone, via email, or fax. Change of transportation notes must be received in the front office by 2:00 p.m. on the day of the change in order for the appropriate pass to be issued.
